Summary

Practising zazen has effects in our life, though not magical ones: it doesn’t mean that if we practise zazen we never become ill. Practising zazen helped two of Mike’s students who used to be alcoholics to return to their normal self; inner conflicts can dissolve during zazen, and zazen can solve a problem by changing the point of view. Mike says that for Master Dogen freedom in action is a result of zazen, and that practising zazen itself produces a ripening, which we can leave as it is.
