Introduction
The two main objectives of this site are to make the teaching of Master Dogen, Gudo Wafu Nishijima and Michael Eido Luetchford available in Slovak, Czech and English, and to show where you can sit together.
The Shobogenzo, Master Dogen's main work, is here chapter by chapter: the authorised English translation by Gudo Nishijima and Chodo Cross, and Slovak translations of selected chapters. Five chapters also have Mike's modern interpretations, retold in today's language; two of them also exist in Roman Válek's Czech translation.
Talks by Mike Luetchford and Gudo Nishijima are here as recordings, and many also as transcripts and translations. The recordings carry the atmosphere of the talk and the discussion; a text can be read where you cannot listen, and you can come back to it.
To help you search and find your way, there are one-minute overviews of the Shobogenzo chapters, short overviews of the talks, digests of them and keywords. They are aids, not an interpretation of the teaching; the full text is always what counts.
Zazen: practical instructions for sitting at home and the places where you can sit with others. Invitations to retreats are under Events, earlier events with photos and recordings in the Chronicle.
In the settings in the bar at the top you can expand or collapse the short overviews, switch animations off and choose the page colours. If you find a mistake or something inaccurate anywhere on the site, write to us through the contacts page.
