Summary
Master Gensa Shibi, a fisherman who left his boat to become a monk, said that the whole universe in all directions is one bright pearl, and Master Dogen’s one bright pearl is a commentary on his words. His master Seppo recognised in him a very simple and sincere young man who wasn’t pursuing some idealistic thing, and Gensa gained the power to make the truth of his master’s teachings his own.
