Summary
Sometimes, although I am doing something, my mind is elsewhere, which is not a criticism but a description of reality; then I cannot put my full energy into what I am doing. Mike says we are pulled out of the simple state of being where we are by a phone call from far away or by the news, and that in Western culture we rush forward into the future, leaving lots of things trailing behind.
