Summary
It is inevitable to think during zazen, but we don’t intentionally think and we don’t intentionally keep thinking. In the gaps between our thoughts we are here, and in zazen we practise sitting in that gap: not looking very closely and not going inside, just looking, defocusing and embracing everything. The zazen guide says: stop the driving movement of mind and consciousness.
