Summary
Zazen is not always easy: pain, sleepiness, strong emotions and a lot of energy can make sitting difficult. Making ourselves sit when we are in pain does develop some ability to put up with things, but if we push, push, we use zazen as a kind of prison. We don’t need to judge ourselves: we can sit when we can sit, and with sleepiness we can decide whether to continue sitting or to get up and have a sleep.

Main theme
Push, push. Then we use zazen as a kind of prison. And I think many people who practice zazen do this.
