Summary
Our opinions about right and wrong are different from real right and wrong. Abstract right or wrong is just a thought, a concept with no real substance, not etched into reality, against which we then measure our action; there is nothing called right waiting somewhere for us to find it and do it; Mike’s example is a soldier on the battlefield: someone watching him on television may judge his actions right or wrong, but for the soldier his judgement about his action in that moment is completely different. If we try to do some ideal meaning of right, we create wrong, because wrong is also caused by the intention to do right, so what counts is right and wrong in action.
